LGBTQ+ Inclusion Masterclass Webinar Series

This series introduces organisations and individuals in the health, human services and wellbeing sector to LGBTQ+ inclusive care. It looks at some of the foundational steps required to make care services inclusive for the LGBTQ+ community. It is designed for those in decision making roles and quality teams who can impact organisational change, quality processes, policies and forms.

It is recommended that each organisation send two people to each session listed below – however, the people can change from session to session based on the audience requirements. The discounted price is inclusive of two people attending each session. Once purchased, someone will reach out from our team to confirm the other attendees. By the end of the series, participants will be able to articulate why LGBTQ-inclusivity is needed for their organisation and to identify gaps in their current service. They will be able to review their policy and data collection practices with an inclusion lense and recommend changes and improvements.

Masterclass 1: Organisational Readiness

Duration: 2.5 hrs

Delivery: ZOOM

Audience: Managers, leadership, clinical focus, health and wellbeing service providers, individual practitioners

Learning outcomes:

1. Understand the importance of culture change towards inclusion
2. Understand the tools available
3. Be able to assess their organisation’s readiness
4. Advocate internally for change

Masterclass 2: Data collection and intake forms

Duration: 2.5 hrs

Delivery: ZOOM

Audience: Clinical Director, Client IT systems, Quality roles

Learning outcomes:

1. Understand the rationale using inclusive forms.
2. How to ask questions on gender and sexuality
3. Differentiate inclusive and non-inclusive data capturing.
4. Learn how to implement asking inclusive questions on gender and sexuality in your organisation.

Masterclass 3: Inclusive Policy Development

Duration: 2.5 hrs

Delivery: ZOOM

Audience: people responsible for client/patient policies, quality team

Learning outcomes:

1. Understand the importance of inclusion in policy and service provision.
2. Be able to differentiate between an inclusive and non-inclusive policy
3. Learn about LGBTQ inclusive language + terminology for use in policies.
4. Reflect on your organisation’s current policies and create a plan to improve
