 Bi-Visibility day 2020

Bi-Visibility Day – 23 September 2020!

A person might consider themselves bisexual if they are attracted to more than one gender and/or they have had intimate experiences with more than one gender and/or they identify as bisexual. Bi+ is an inclusive term that refers to people who are attracted to more than one gender regardless of their sexual identity or sexual behaviour. The most recent statistics on bisexuality in Australia from the second Australian Study of Health and Relationships suggest that 1.7% of Australian adults identify as bisexual, while 10.1% report bisexual attraction and 9.4% have had intimate experiences with more than one gender. You can check out our virtual means of showing your support on Welcome Here website:

COVID Resilience Forum

COVID Resilience Forum

ACON will be hosting a live online forum to explore our communities resilience and ability to adapt to the ongoing challenges posed by COVID 19.

We know the virus is having a profound effect on our community. Some are struggling with isolation, depression, disruption to daily lives and fear in this pandemic. For the time being, we are living with a new normal that can feel uncertain and overwhelming. ACON will be hosting this online forum to bring people together, to rally around each other and share stories of resilience, adaption and survival.

Our panel will include experts, community advocates and some amazing queer performances to guide and inspire us through this difficult time.

The online forum is planned to take place on Thursday, 17 September 2020 from 5:30 pm to 7 pm.

ACON Face Masks

Pride Training Pronoun Badges

New ACON Merchandise has arrived – Face Masks!

Remember the cool pronoun badges that ACON Pride Training sells? A pronoun button badge is a safe way to open up the conversation around your pronouns and create an inclusive space for others. Wear them to work, school, or an event. Wearing a badge normalises conversations and can stop guesses and assumptions.

Now ACON has released branded face masks to support LGBTQ communities in protecting themselves and others from COVID-19, with all proceeds from the sale of the mask go towards supporting our vital programs and services that improve the health and wellbeing of sexuality and gender diverse communities.

The ACON face mask is washable and reusable with three-layer protection. They are non-medical grade and protects against droplets, solid particles and smoke. Masks are available for $15 each and can be purchased online or at ACON Surry Hills.
