Trans-Affirming Workplaces In-Person

Create a workplace where trans and gender diverse people feel safe, respected, and supported.

Workplaces often strive to be inclusive, yet many people feel unsure about how to support trans and gender diverse colleagues or how to respond confidently when gender diversity comes up in everyday interactions. These gaps in understanding—often unintentional—can contribute to exclusion, discomfort, or barriers to participation, especially for trans people navigating workplace systems and culture.

This course bridges that gap by building your foundational knowledge of trans and gender diverse identities and equipping you with practical strategies for creating affirming workplace environments. Developed by LGBTQ+ community members and subject matter experts, it combines real experiences, practical tools, and interactive learning to help you understand the challenges trans and gender diverse people may face at work and the role you can play in fostering inclusion. You’ll gain insight into terminology, lived experiences, workplace barriers, and the everyday actions that contribute to safer, more respectful environments.

Ideal for anyone committed to strengthening workplace inclusion, this training will help you build confidence in allyship and contribute to a culture where people of all genders can thrive. Whether you’re a manager, team member, or service provider, you’ll leave with clear, actionable steps to support trans‑affirming workplaces.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Define LGBTQ+ and differentiate between gender, sexuality, and related concepts.
  • Describe common experiences within the trans and gender diverse community and recognise the importance of lived experience.
