Many organisations mark IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination and Transphobia), but without context, efforts can feel tokenistic or disconnected from the lived experiences they aim to honour. Understanding the significance of this day is key to meaningful engagement. This module offers a focused, accessible overview of IDAHOBIT’s origins, the ongoing impact of LGBTQ+ discrimination, and how visibility and allyship can drive change. It’s designed to help you participate with purpose and apply inclusive strategies in your everyday work.

- Define IDAHOBIT and its global purpose, origins, and ongoing relevance.
- Describe how biphobia, intersexism, and transphobia appear and impact people across different contexts.
- Apply inclusive communication and allyship practices that affirm LGBTQIA+ identities and reduce harm.
- Use these insights to make your workplace, health setting, or community more inclusive, including how you plan and participate in IDAHOBIT activities.
