Many people want to interact respectfully with LGBTQ+ colleagues, clients, and community members, but uncertainty about terminology, identities, or how to approach conversations can create hesitation and unintentional exclusion. This course provides a clear, practical foundation to help you engage confidently and inclusively. Developed by LGBTQ+ subject matter experts and enriched with real community stories, it explains key concepts, explores lived experiences, and offers tools you can apply immediately across everyday interactions.

The three interactive modules — Meet the Communities, Know the Facts, and Understand the Lived Experiences — build your understanding step by step. This training is suitable for GPs and other clinicians seeking CPD points, as well as anyone wanting to deepen their knowledge.

Learning Outcomes 
By the end, you’ll be able to: 

1. By the end of the course, you will be able to define LGBTQ+ and clearly differentiate between gender and sexuality
2. Describe the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ people; explain the impacts of discrimination and the importance of visibility and inclusion
3. Use inclusive language and appropriate terminology in everyday interactions
4. Create safer interactions and spaces through practical allyship.
